This year AppianWorld was held in the Grand Hyatt hotel, Washington DC. The annual event hosted by Appian offers a great opportunity to get together with Appian partners and customers. Furthermore, interesting presentations are available for every expertise.
Every AppianWorld also comes with a new release of the BPM platform showcasing new functionalities of the 16.2 release such as Quick apps and the use of fitNesse.
Quick apps allows you to develop a simple application within 15 minutes and enables a business user to develop his or her own applications.
The use of fitNesse was also introduced in 16.2 enabling a user to automate testing in combination with versioning software e.g. gitHub and automated deploy tools e.g. Jenkins.
A huge change added in 16.2 was the improved Appian process modeler which is now also compatible with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, making it next to Internet Explorer also available on all other popular browsers.
Another big change was the improved use of Web API’s, a long requested functionality by the community showing that Appian really listens to its users.
The changes added in 16.2 reveal which direction Appian is heading towards in the future in order to increase its solid position as a low-code BPM platform.
We’re very curious which changes Appian will bring next year. Many thanks to everybody who has contributed for making this event a great one. See you all next year in Miami!
